Reid McCoy — Director
Reid currently serves as Vice Chairman, Board of Directors for McCoy’s Building Supply, a fourth generation family business that operates 88 full-service lumberyards in five states serving a customer base of serious do-it-yourselfers, farmers and ranchers, repair and remodel contractors, and independent homebuilders. Reid is also Vice President of McCoy-Remme Ranches, a cow-calf operation with land holdings in Jeff Davis, Reeves, and Pecos counties.
Reid served three years as a Surface Warfare Officer in the U.S. Navy (2002-2005) aboard USS PREBLE (DDG 88). Responsibilities included the safe navigation of a $1.2 billion warship deployed to the Northern Arabian Gulf, and Anti-Submarine Warfare Officer responsible for the operation and maintenance of the ship’s sonar systems. Reid served eight years as a Foreign Service Officer in the U.S. State Department (2008-2015). Assignments abroad included managing visa and passport fraud investigations for U.S. Consulate General Ciudad Juarez and leading the Non-Immigrant Visa Section for U.S. Consulate General Vancouver. Domestic assignments included serving as a Watch Officer in the Secretary of State’s Operations Center and staffing the Assistant Secretary of State for Western Hemisphere Affairs.
Reid graduated cum laude with a BS in Aerospace Engineering from Texas A&M in 2002 and received his Master of International Affairs from the Bush School at Texas A&M in 2007. He is married to his college school sweetheart, Katherine, and they have two young children.
